Anna Wintour’s office, the United Nations’ Security Council Consultations Room, David Zwirner’s office, an IKEA design lab, a Fox News studio. Brent Murray’s New York Times piece “The Rooms Where It Happens” showcases photographs of these rarely seen spaces where powerful decision-making occurs. Write a personal essay about a room that has played an important role in your life. Describe the furniture, lighting, and paraphernalia, and consider the actions, behaviors, and thinking you’ve done in this room. Are there expected and unexpected correlations between the objects and actions?

Prayer Journal For Tuesday October 19, 2021

Tuesday October 19, 2021

Dear God,

I want to change my life. I want a better way to organize my things. I want to purge my needlework to make room for new things. I want a better way to organize my clothes & diaries so I can access/find them better. I am itching for a change. I want to improve my life. I want positive things to come my way. I want the changes I make reflect in the new people I meet. I give it all to you for you to deal with. In your hands. Please listen to my prayer.

To God For Tuesday October 19, 2021

Tuesday October 19, 2021

Dear God,

Why can’t I sleep? Why am I up at 3:30 am with a spinning mind? Why do I have trouble getting to sleep? Why do I have trouble staying asleep? Why do I feel more tired when I wake up than when I went to sleep? Why am I always so tired & so exhausted. What is wrong with me? What is going on? Am I going crazy? Is it all in my head? What should I be looking for? Is my constant exhaustion related to my weight issues? How do I solve this major issue? Can you help me, God?

Invitation
By: Tara Kimberley Torme

I’m well loved by
All friends and family

Whether we’re near
Or far geographically,

We keep in touch frequently
By phone and by email.

You tell me everything that
Goes on in our life –

Either births, sicknesses
Marriage, divorce, trips. And

Because you know I’m not able to
Make events, you will s till let

Me know, no matter what, always
Extending an invitation towards me.

You will even go out of your way
To give me a ride to family reunions

So I can come and spend time with
Everybody. When trips are planned,

You will go out of your way to include
Me and invite me along because you

Really want to make sure I’m
Included and that I have an

Awesome opportunity to travel
And get to know you better as a

Person. And because you know I’m
Financially challenged, you will make

Sure to go out of your way to help
Me find a way to travel – maybe an

All expense paid – because you are
An awesome person. You will go out

Of your way to make sure I come
To your wedding because I’m really

Important to you. You include me
In everything, invite me along to

All that you do, because you
Want to make me feel included,

Loved, wanted, special. It’s a
Great feeling to be always invited,

Included, and be told all that goes on
In your lives – I feel honored and touched.

But what I’ve just told you is
All a horrible bald faced lie –

That’s just not true in
My own personal life:

The real cold hard truth is a
Bitter pill to swallow – I

Don’t have anybody like that
In my life – everybody pushes

Me away, treats me like I don’t
Exist or even considers my feelings.

They probably don’t think I have
Feelings or even care that they don’t

Share with me what’s going on in their
Lives or that they block my emails –

I’m the resident retard with a
Disability that can’t do anything

Right. The cold hard truth is this:

Nobody ever bothers to go out of their way to invite me to events or include me on trips.

Because to them: I just simply don’t exist.
